Inspiration series: Package Design #3

I really impress by graphic designers works, Like when i go to THE DIE LINE blog too seeing package design, Always love the designs, and I’m happy to have THE DIE LINE blog to see some nice and beautiful work by package designers around the world. So i decide to share it with you again.

Coca-Cola Light by of Roberto Cavalli

Joint venture between Coca-Cola and Roberto Cavalli – limited run of 300,000 bottles (limited is a subjective term) exclusively for the Italian market.
“I had a lot of fun creating three different “dresses” for the legendary silhouette of the Coca Cola Light Contour. They are seductive and feminine, in typical Cavalli style. They’re designed for the world of young people, which has always been a great inspiration to me,” – R. Cavalli.

Cafe Package
achingly functional cafe packaging from BvD

Benefit Kitten
Benefit Cosmetics always seems to have quirky and interesting packaging. They are girlie and flirty… and sometimes a little bit retro. I am smitten with this new-fashioned body glitter, in an old-fashioned powder-box. I adore the illustration style, and decadence of the box and puff. This product has been around for years, but it’s still a fun addition to any girl’s bathroom.

I am under the impression that the packaging was designed in-house. Though I’d love to know who the illustrator was.

Q Tonic
A new tonic water for those who cannot bare to mix grey goose with schweppes!

24/$51

Taken from the site:

You now have no alternative but to drown your gin, vodka, or rum of choice with a tonic water of compromised quality. Designed from unpronounceable ingredients by multinational corporations, sweetened beyond recognition with high fructose corn syrup, and packaged in generic containers, the typical tonic water is an afterthought that adds nothing to the drinking experience.

Q Tonic is dedicated to making the world’s best tonic water – a clean, crisp, completely ungeneric beverage that enhances the finest spirits or stands proudly on its own. We’ve used the best ingredients we could find. We went to the slopes of the Peruvian Andes for hand-picked quinine and to the Mexican countryside for organic agave, a sweetener better than honey with a gently rounded sweetness. We meticulously refined our recipe with both food scientists and mixologists. Then we worked with one of New York City’s best design shops to develop a bottle as beautiful as the liquid it holds. We think we’ve come up with a superior tonic water. One that’s good enough for the gin, vodka, or rum you’d choose to mix it with. And good enough to change the way you think about tonic water.

Maestro Dobel Tequila

“Maestro Dobel is a luxurious silver tequila with the complexity of an aged spirit.  Created by Juan-Domingo “Dobel” Beckmann, the sixth-generation leader of the world’s most prominent tequila-producing family, Maestro Dobel Dobel is diamond-clear – a result of a proprietary blending and filtration technique.  Hand-crafted in Jalisco, Mexico, Dobel is a distinctive blend of three aged tequilas: Reposado (rested 15 months), Anejo (rested 24 months), and Extra-Anejo (rested for 36 months). Maestro Dobel will be available in August 2008 at the finest evening establishments in Los Angeles, Boston, Milwaukee and Atlanta as well as online where legal.  Dobel is 40% Alc./Vol. and has a suggested retail price of $74.99. ”

Exquisite packaging! I love the hand labeling details and the use of metal and glass together. I am unsure who is responsible for the design, if you know, please comment. More pics after the jump.

Sohne Wine Bottles
Sohne Wine bottles designed by Ned Wright. I did not receive any return response to Ned inquiring about this design, so I don’t know of these are conceptual or actual products. But, since they were so beautiful, I thought it was worth sharing.

Student Work: Peared
Peared, a beautiful concept designed by recent Syracuse grad Conor Hagan. Uniquely shaped sourced packages, reminiscent of its titled fruit’s shape, posed interesting problems for simple presentation of information. The four pack is bound by a single piece of heavy paper material, suspended by gravity alone using no glues or plastics. The wrap around labeling for the larger bottles double as handles for easy pouring.

Capri Pack

I found this empty pack of Capri cigarettes on a walk to the bank a couple of months ago. With its stylized pink smoke motif, it struck me as unusual for a current fashion brand cigarette pack. Funny thing is, I can find nothing about it online. Even the RJ Renolds site, shows a different pack with an abstract watercolor design.

Maybe this was a limited edition? (I seem to remember seeing a bunch of these with different colors of smoke, behind the counter at the drug store.)

Mojo
Mojo coolers are another member of the alcoholic energy drink bandwagon. These coolers contain a lot of sugar and guarana, so it’s twitch city on these ones.
The bottle design is pretty cool and really suggest the idea of a liquid drink, as they define themselves.
I couldn’t find out the name of the design studio who made their labels, do anyone know?

The double bottle container after the jump is also really nice!
